Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast, nicely decorated and very hospitable and welcoming owners.
Stylish room with a funky design, and lovely view across the city and Firth of Forth in the distance. The house itself is elegant and pleasant to be in - it has a happy feel. Breakfast was very freshly cooked, and served by a lovely friendly girl - really good! We were able to borrow umbrellas to cope with the rain, and were given excellent directions and advice with buses from the airport and around Edinburgh. The Bruntsfield area is very nice - plenty of buses, local shops and cafes etc.
A plug and a mirror closer to the dressing table would have been nice. But that's only a minor gripe.
The owners were friendly and tried their best to accommodate our wishes. Place was quiet, and the other guests were also quiet. Rooms were of a reasonable size. Breakfast was plentiful. No fresh fruits on the first day, but they were quick on the uptake and for the rest of our five day stay, we had fresh fruit on the breakfast table.Well done. Staff were equally friendly and pleasant. There are buses which run straight into the city from Albyn. If there are more than 3 of you, it actually works out to be about the same price to take a taxi. Many restaurants within walking distance,
Loved Albyn Townhouse! Very stylish and comfortable with a French touch. Fabulous breakfast. David and Lydie (the French half of the partnership) were so hospitable - turning up extra late due to flight delays didn't phase Lydie at all. Definitely stay there again.
Very nice room and bathroom. Great breakfast. David was very vice and helpfull. We would love to come back and we definetely recommend.
First of all Lidye and David are two wonderful person: nice, kind, warm, elegant and all these characteristics are reflected in hospitality and house atmosphere. The townhouse is cleaned, well designed room, excellent breakfast, very quite area perfect for long walks to reach the centre of the town and...what else....a perfect birthday gift for my husband. We will recommend this accomodation to all of those that wanna plan a visit in Edinburgh. Thanks Lidye and David. Letizia & Alessandro, Pisa, Italy
No negative aspect
Very very friendly, impeccably clean. Very comfortable. Both cheaper and nicer than any of the hotels. Free parking (request in advance). Pleasant 15minute walk into town. Wouldn;t stay anywhere else in Edinburgh.
The room was very nice, great Breakfast and lovely owners!
Everything was so well organised and the atmosphere was welcoming and unflustered. There was a feeling of hospitality and caring. Lovely, lovely stay and excellent breakfasts!
The room and bed were excellent. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The management and staff were excellent. The location, which I knew anyway is excellent.
We suggested larger room tea / coffee mugs and herrbal/fruit teas
A great find in a wonderful location where David and Lydie are the perfect hosts. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. They provided a very generous cooked breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. No hesitation in recommending to all.
All of it. And it's quiet, at the end of a cul-de-sac, so no passing traffic
What's not to like?!
I liked the wonderful French welcome and feel of the place. I loved the decor and attention to detail in the room (including the sweetie on the pillow). There was plenty of space, as well as a kingsized bed! The relaxed times of breakfast were appreciated. Service was very efficient and you were made to feel at home. The whole experience was indulgent!
Very warm welcome, made a very relaxing place to stay. Very clean, fliuffy white towels, crisp white bed sheets. Excellent breakfasts. Staff very helpful. Within walking distance of city centre, close to restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend.
Friendly, helpful staff and proprietor. Good quality service and facilities throughout.
